About Michael

As a divorced father of small children, Michael knows how emotionally devastating a divorce or separation can be on the parents and especially the children. Therefore, his goal as an attorney is to minimize the impact a divorce has on a family by resolving disputes in a creative and amicable way, when possible, in order to maintain the necessary post-separation relationship to the extent necessary to protect the children. However, when alternative dispute resolutions methods are unsuccessful, Michael is an aggressive and formidable trial lawyer, prepared to go the distance for his clients.

Prior to graduating as valedictorian from law school, Michael had a career as a wealth manager and investment specialist with a nationally known brokerage firm. His extensive financial background serves his clients by allowing him to thoroughly analyze the financial impacts of all possible resolution scenarios.

Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida in 1996. He received his Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While in law school, Michael interned with the Administrative Judge for Orange County's Domestic Relations division. His duties as an intern were to assist the judiciary with legal research, preparation of legal documents, and substantial observation in the domestic relations and domestic violence courts. This opportunity allowed Michael to learn from various styles as to what strategies are effective with the judiciary and which strategies are less effective. Michael also participated in several workshops focused on family law and domestic violence.

Michael is a 2011 Graduate of the Houston Family Law Trial Institute, a week-long intensive trial training institute focusing on advanced concepts of Family Law Litigation. This experience allowed Michael to hone his trial skills and helped shape him in the formidable trial attorney he is today. Michael is also a frequent lecturer at Florida A&M University's College of Law on the topic of family law in Florida.

Michael is a member of the Florida Bar, Family Law Section, the Orange County Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida, and the Central Florida Family Law American Inns of Court. On a personal level, Michael is actively involved with the graduate chapter of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and volunteers extensively in our community.
